Job summary

Mott MacDonald’s Water Environment & Societymarket seeks a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join the Adelaide team. You’ll deliver key SA Water projects across water and wastewater systems, leading design and construct activities and coordinating multi-disciplinary inputs.

You will mentor engineers, manage complex reports, align with WSAA standards, and deliver high quality outcomes while building strong client relationships and contributing to business growth.

Qualifications

• Broad understanding of wastewater and water networks and related infrastructure.
• Proven experience delivering and leading water and wastewater projects.
• Knowledge of WSAA standards and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead weekly design meetings and milestone workshops.
• Oversee development and QA of drawings, reports, and client deliverables.
• Manage Site Access, Tenure, and STEP documentation production.
• Collaborate with partners and subcontractors on specs and inputs.
• Define and select best value technical solutions with a multidisciplinary team.
• Identify risks, drive mitigation strategies, and maximise value.
• Manage design budgets, schedules, and change processes.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers.
• Build strong client relationships and liaison with stakeholders.
• Provide technical input into bids and growth opportunities.
