Job summary

Ballina Shire Council is seeking a hands-on Water and Wastewater team member to help keep wastewater systems operating safely and reliably. You will perform cleaning, maintenance and repair across the local government area, working independently while supporting the team to deliver high-quality services.

The role requires physical labour, experience with basic tools and pressure cleaners, and a White Card with a willingness to participate in immunisation programs.

Qualifications

• Experience in and understanding of wastewater reticulation networks.
• Ability to undertake physical labouring duties.
• Proven experience operating and maintaining small plant and equipment such as pressure cleaners and basic power tools.
• Demonstrated digital literacy with devices and applications.
• Work Safely in the Construction Industry Induction (White Card).
• Willingness to participate in immunisation and to work on call as rostered.

Responsibilities

• Clean, maintain and repair wastewater pump stations, assets and infrastructure.
• Respond to operational needs as part of the wastewater team.
• Work independently and as part of a team to support services for the community.
