Job summary

Wingecarribee Shire Council in Moss Vale, NSW, seeks a Team Leader Wastewater (Construction) to guide a dedicated crew through construction, maintenance and renewal works on the wastewater network. You’ll manage day‑to‑day operations, inspections and safety compliance to deliver reliable services for the community.

The role requires a qualification in water/civil construction, ≥4 years in water/wastewater work and ≥2 years leading teams, plus experience with GIS mapping and computer tools.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Water Industry, Civil Construction or relevant discipline with ≥4 years’ experience in water and wastewater construction and ≥2 years leading and supervising multi‑disciplined teams.
• Experience operating tools and equipment related to water and wastewater construction; knowledge of AS3500 and WSAA guidelines.
• Proven planning, communication and resource coordination for scheduled works.
• Experience using computer applications and scheduling systems; GIS mapping is advantageous.
• Hold MR Driver’s Licence, WHS Induction Card, Confined Space Entry, Working from Heights, Powerlines, Traffic Control and excavator competency.

Responsibilities

• Lead a crew delivering construction, maintenance and renewal works across the wastewater network.
• Coordinate day‑to‑day operations, investigations and inspections; ensure asset integrity.
• Manage resources and drive continuous improvement across the network.
• Mentor team members and promote a positive safety culture.
