Job summary

Port Stephens Council is seeking a Team Leader for the Salamander Bay Waste Transfer Station. You will lead seven Waste Operators, oversee weighbridge operations, and coordinate waste collection and contractor activities while maintaining high safety standards.

The role offers a permanent, full-time position with a 38-hour week, and potential flexible working arrangements. Salary ranges from $76,165 to $89,528 plus superannuation and allowances.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership and ability to motivate a team.
• Experience in waste management or similar field.
• Certificate III in Waste Management or willingness to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on leadership to a team of seven Waste Operators.
• Coordinate rostering and daily activities to ensure efficient Transfer Station operations.
• Oversee weighbridge operations and data entry in MS Office.
• Coordinate waste collection and contractor management when required.
• Ensure on-site safety and adherence to council risk plans.
