Job summary

Port Stephens Council is seeking a Waste Operator for the Salamander Bay Waste Transfer Station. The role involves operating plant, providing customer service, and assisting weighbridge duties while adhering to WHS standards.

The position is permanent, full-time (38 hours/week) with a base salary of AUD 69,241–AUD 74,396 per year plus 12% superannuation, adverse work allowance and a retention allowance. Based at Salamander Bay WTS, view the PD for details.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated safe and effective operation of frontend loader/backhoe to standard.
• Manual labouring experience and safe manual handling techniques.
• Strong communication skills in a customer-facing role.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant equipment (front end loader, backhoe, forklift) as required.
• Provide positive customer service to the community at the Waste Transfer Station.
• Assist weighbridge operations and support general station duties.
