Job summary

The Nambucca Valley Council is seeking a Waste Services Coordinator to lead the day-to-day delivery of waste and resource recovery across the Valley. You will work with contractors, internal teams and the community to meet service standards and resolve issues.

Key duties include managing kerbside waste contracts, aligning operations with Waste Services Agreement requirements, and promoting recycling through campaigns. Strong contract management and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage the contract for kerbside waste collection, including managing contractor performance.
• Ensure recycling and organic material operations align with the Waste Services Agreement requirements.
• Effectively manage gatehouse and transfer station operations.
• Ensure landfilling operations and waste disposal complies with landfill Environmental Management Plan and Environmental Protection License.
• Promote recycling and alternate processing of waste materials through marketing and education campaigns.

The Opportunity

As the Waste Services Coordinator, you will play a role in coordinating the day-to-day delivery of waste and resource recovery services across the Valley. Working closely with contractors, internal teams and the community, you'll help ensure services are delivered effectively, issues are resolved quickly and customer expectations are met.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Manage the contract for kerbside waste collection, including managing contractor performance.
• Ensures recycling and organic material operations align with the Waste Services Agreement requirements.
• Effectively manage gatehouse and transfer station operations.
• Ensure landfilling operations and waste disposal complies with landfill Environmental Management Plan and Environmental Protection License.
• Promote recycling and alternate processing of waste materials through marketing and education campaigns.

Who we are looking for?

To be successful in this role you should possess demonstrated experience in the management of waste disposal facilities and associated infrastructure, competence in project and/or contract management together with experience managing employees and contractors. You should also be a good communicator, be adept at computer data bases and reporting, possess a drivers license and WHS Construction Induction Certificate.
