Job summary

Hume City Council is seeking a Resource Recovery Education Officer on a fixed term 7-month, full-time contract. The role supports waste and resource recovery programs through education, engagement and behaviour change to increase community participation and reduce contamination.

You will develop plans, coordinate sessions across the community, and measure outcomes to drive continuous improvement while building strong stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in public policy, psychology, behaviour change, environmental science, management, or related field.
• Experience in public policy or environmental programs preferred.
• Experience communicating with diverse communities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an annual community education and engagement plan.
• Coordinate education sessions for residents, clubs, schools and education institutions.
• Promote waste and resource recovery targets and relevant policies.
• Identify opportunities to engage staff and community in existing programs.
• Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation plans.
• Enter data and prepare reports to improve program outcomes.
