Job summary

Dubbo Regional Council invites applications for a Resource Recovery Education & Compliance Coordinator on a fixed-term contract through to 30 June 2028. You’ll lead education and compliance initiatives to shape how our communities think about waste, recycling and sustainability.

You’ll deliver education programs, drive the rollout of FOGO services across three councils, conduct audits and compliance activities, and build strong partnerships to reduce contamination and boost regional waste

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Waste Management, Environmental Science, Environmental Education, Teaching or a related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering waste education and sustainability programs.
• Knowledge of NSW waste legislation, EPA guidelines, FOGO requirements.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Experience in compliance monitoring, reporting, audits, project coordination and budget management.
• Current Working with Children Check.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver innovative education programs and campaigns to reduce waste and improve recycling.
• Lead community engagement for the rollout of FOGO services across three councils.
• Conduct waste audits, bin inspections and compliance activities to reduce contamination.
• Build strong relationships with community groups, schools, businesses and contractors.
• Use data and continuous improvement to enhance service delivery and environmental outcomes.
