Waverley Council is seeking a proactive leader to plan and implement strategic waste and resource recovery projects. You will drive efficiency, improve kerbside services, and support the council's waste strategy with measurable outcomes.

The role involves budgeting, reporting, and collaboration with internal teams and external consultants to achieve targets and secure funding opportunities, while promoting a community-focused service.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g. project management, environmental science/management).
• Sound understanding of environmental and waste management issues relevant to local government.
• Strong analytical and data management skills.
• Excellent organisational ability and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated experience with grant applications and technical reports.

Responsabilités

• Design, implement and evaluate initiatives improving kerbside services.
• Deliver and monitor programs for waste avoidance, reuse and recycling.
• Update policies for resource recovery and waste management.
• Prepare waste budgets, reports and submissions.
• Collaborate to monitor and report on resource recovery targets.
• Coordinate consultants for audits, investigations and modelling.
• Seek external grant funding and partnerships.
