Job summary

Colac Otway Shire Council is seeking a Coordinator Waste Services to lead our waste management strategy, oversee kerbside collections, transfer stations, and resource recovery. The role emphasises circular economy initiatives, contract management, data dashboards, and community engagement to reduce contamination and promote sustainable resource use across the Shire.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in waste management or related field.
• Experience with complex service contracts and KPI monitoring.
• Understanding of municipal waste management and circular economy.
• Strong financial and analytical skills including budgeting.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Valid Victorian Driver Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review the Waste Management Strategy and circular economy initiatives.
• Oversee contracted waste services and monitor KPI performance.
• Manage the GoodSort app, dashboards, and data-driven improvements.
• Develop annual budgets and manage external grants.
• Deliver waste education programs and community engagement.
