Job summary

Gunnedah Shire Council is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor - Waste Services to lead a team managing the Council's waste infrastructure, including landfills and transfer/recycling centres. You will ensure compliance with EPA licences, uphold WHS standards, and drive improvements in waste management across the community.

The role involves budget support, data reporting, and representing the council at regional initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team with plant management.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to develop and implement recycling and waste-reduction initiatives.
• Demonstrated knowledge of waste management practices and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure waste infrastructure operations comply with legislation and EPA licence.
• Implement safety standards and policies at all worksites.
• Provide clear direction to the team and ensure policy adherence.
• Assist in budget management and reporting data.
• Represent the council at regional waste management meetings.
