Spinifex Recruiting is assisting Ballina Shire Council in recruiting a Waste Management Officer for the Resource Recovery Centre at Ballina. The role involves hands-on operations, strong customer service, and a safe, compliant work environment.

You will contribute to waste sorting, site maintenance, and efficient operations, with an emphasis on safety and teamwork in a full-time capacity.

Formación

• HR (Heavy Rigid) Driver Licence is essential.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in an outdoor environment.
• Reliable work ethic and positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Experience in waste management, civil construction, labouring, transport, or a similar field is highly regarded.

Responsabilidades

• Provide excellent customer service to members of the public.
• Direct customers to appropriate waste disposal and recycling areas.
• Assist with the safe operation of the Transfer Station and Resource Recovery Centre.
• Operate plant and equipment in accordance with Council procedures.
• Undertake general labouring and site maintenance duties.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the site.
• Assist with waste sorting and resource recovery activities.
• Ensure compliance with Workplace Health & Safety requirements.
• Complete operational records and documentation as required.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team to deliver efficient site operations.

Spinifex Recruiting is currently seeking a motivated and reliable Waste Management Officer to join the team at Ballina Shire Council's Resource Recovery Centre. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, providing customer service, and contributing to the efficient operation of waste and recycling services within the local community.

About the Role

As a Waste Management Officer, you will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Resource Recovery Centre and Transfer Station, ensuring customers receive a high level of service while maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

• Current Forklift Ticket.
• Experience operating plant and machinery.
• White Card.
• Experience working in a waste management, resource recovery, construction, or local government environment.
• Weighbridge experience.
