Job summary

City of Moreton Bay is seeking an experienced waste-management leader to head a major waste facility, improving safety, environmental performance and service outcomes in a fast-growing region. You will oversee landfill and transfer-station operations, lead a qualified team, manage contractors and drive improvements while maintaining safety and compliance.

This is a permanent full-time role with a 9-day fortnight and a salary range aligned to level 7–8.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience leading landfill and waste-facility operations
• Knowledge of environmental management and weighbridge systems
• Familiar with Queensland waste levy and governance requirements
• Proven ability to manage regulators and contractors

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, efficient and compliant operation of a major waste facility
• Own landfill, transfer-station and resource-recovery activities
• Develop and lead a capable operational team and manage contractors
• Turn operational insight into practical improvements balancing safety, environment and finances
