Job summary

The City of Hobart is seeking a Waste Management Centre Team member in Hobart, TAS, to support safe, efficient waste management practices at the Waste Management Centre (McRobies Gully). The role includes operating plant and equipment, guiding the public on disposal and recycling, and assisting with rostered weekend work.

Candidates must have a Certificate III in Waste Management (CPP30719) or be able to acquire it, plus a current Heavy Rigid Driver Licence and White Card Registration.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Waste Management (CPP30719) or equivalent.
• Current Heavy Rigid Driver Licence and White Card Registration.
• Capable and safety-focused operator with demonstrated experience operating small to medium plant.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe and efficient landfill and transfer station operations including organic recycling and resource recovery.
• Operate and maintain plant and equipment in line with manuals, procedures and standing instructions.
• Provide clear guidance to the public on waste disposal, recycling and resource recovery practices.
• Manage site traffic and inspect incoming vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
• Maintain a clean, compliant site and support rostered weekend work.
