Job summary

Snowy Monaro Regional Council is seeking a front-line worker to provide friendly customer service at our waste facilities in the Snowy Monaro region. You will assist customers with disposal queries, screen and sort waste, and complete weighbridge transactions and records accurately.

The role requires good communication, teamwork, and adherence to safety procedures, with a NSW White Card and a valid Class C driver licence.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills with a positive approach.
• Strong communication and a friendly, professional attitude.
• Ability to remain calm and courteous with difficult customers.
• Basic computer skills and confidence using systems for transactions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Fit to undertake the role’s physical requirements.
• NSW White Card and a current Class C Driver Licence; First Aid is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, professional customer service at waste facilities.
• Assist customers with disposal enquiries and direct them appropriately.
• Screen and sort incoming waste to minimise landfill use.
• Follow work instructions and cooperate with supervisors and team members.
• Complete weighbridge transactions and other basic records accurately.
• Participate in toolbox talks and safety activities.
• Follow safety procedures and work safely at all times.
