Job summary

Shoalhaven City Council in Bomaderry, NSW, is seeking a dedicated plant operator to safely operate a range of major plant and equipment and deliver maintenance and minor construction works. Reporting to the Central Drainage and Structures Supervisor, you will work closely with team members to ensure efficient delivery of Works & Services operations.

The role requires a Class HR Driver Licence, a White Card, and at least two years' hands-on civil construction or maintenance experience.

• Civil construction or maintenance experience.
• Current White Card and HR Driver Licence are required.
• Proof of right to work in Australia.

Job description

• PLUS additional $1,793 per annum (pro rata for 25 hours per week) Adverse Working Conditions allowance
• 25 hours per week (Monday to Friday / Afternoon Shift)
• Located at Bomaderry Works Depot, McIntyre Way Bomaderry

About the Role

Reporting to the Central Drainage and Structures Supervisor, this role supports the delivery of Council's infrastructure services through the efficient and safe completion of operational activities, working closely with team members and internal stakeholders. This includes:

• Safely operating a range of major plant and equipment to deliver maintenance and minor construction works.
• Supporting and guiding team members to ensure the efficient delivery of Works & Services operations.
• Promoting a strong safety culture through compliance with legislation, Council policies, and risk management practices.
• Contributing to emergency response activities and operational priorities as required, including participation in after-hours call-back duties.

About You

To be successful in the position, you will have:

• School Certificate or equivalent
• Minimum two (2) years' experience operating major plant and equipment
• Demonstrated experience in civil construction and/or maintenance activities
• Current White Card
• Current Class HR Driver Licence
• Proof of right to work in Australia
