Job summary

Apex Steel Supplies is seeking a Warehouse Storeperson for the Afternoon Shift to pick, pack, and prepare structural steel products for dispatch. You will operate scanners, manage inventory, and assist with loading/unloading using forklifts. A safety-first mindset and reliable team player are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in picker/packer, warehouse or manufacturing roles.
• Willingness to undergo pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual handling tasks.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with scanners and inventory systems is desirable.
• Gantry Crane Licence (CB) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Pick and pack structural steel products according to customer orders.
• Pick, stack, relocate and replenish products for dispatch.
• Prepare orders for dispatch and load trucks safely.
• Operate scanning equipment for inventory control.
• Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
• Operate various forklifts as required.
• Perform manual handling and general warehouse duties.
• Adhere to OHS and workplace safety procedures at all times.
• Contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Due to continued business growth, we currently have Warehouse Storeperson – Picker/Packer positions available for Afternoon Shift within our Structural Steel team. We are seeking reliable, hardworking and safety-focused individuals to join our team. These roles will involve picking, packing, stacking, and preparing structural steel products for customer orders and dispatch.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pick and pack structural steel products in accordance with customer orders
• Pick, stack, relocate and replenish structural steel products
• Prepare orders for dispatch
• Operate scanning equipment for inventory control

To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Have:

• A strong understanding of OHS and warehouse safety requirements
• Previous experience in a picker/packer, warehouse or manufacturing role
• Previous experience in the steel or manufacturing industry highly desirable
• Gantry Crane Licence (CB) highly desirable
• Experience using scanners and inventory systems
• Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
• Good communication skills – verbal and written
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to undergo and pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• A positive attitude, with a proactive and safety-first mindset
