Job summary

The Salvation Army in Gladstone, QLD is seeking a Warehouse & Store Supervisor to oversee stock movement and merchandising, coordinating with Store Supervisors to maximise sales. This permanent, part-time role offers 20 hours per week, reporting to the Store Manager.

You will supervise warehouse operations, prepare sale-ready goods, support donors and customers, handle cash, and supervise volunteers. A current Queensland driver’s licence and WHS awareness are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience in retail or customer service with supervisory experience preferred.
  • Current QLD Driver’s licence.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift and handle stock in line with WHS procedures.

  • Supervise warehouse operations including stock movement and store coordination.
  • Prepare and distribute sale-ready goods by identifying high-value items and ensuring they are cleaned and sent to the right stores.
  • Assist donors and customers by greeting them at drop-off points and assisting with unloading donations.
  • Assist with store cash handling including balancing registers and opening/closing the Gladstone Store as required.
  • Supervise and support volunteers.

About the role

As a Warehouse & Store Supervisor, this is your opportunity to supervise product preparation and coordinate stock movement with Store Supervisors to maximise sales through effective merchandising. Reporting to the Store Manager, this is a permanent, part‑time role offering 20 hours per week, located in Gladstone, QLD.

How you will make an impact
  • Supervise warehouse operations including stock movement and store coordination.
  • Prepare and distribute sale‑ready goods by identifying high‑value items and ensuring they are cleaned and sent to the right stores.
  • Support donors and customers by greeting them at drop‑off points and assisting with unloading donations.
  • Assist with store cash handling including balancing registers and opening/closing the Gladstone Store as required.
  • Supervise and support volunteers.
What you will bring
  • Understanding of the value of second‑hand goods with a wide knowledge on brands and goods.
  • Experience in retail and/or customer service environment with some supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Current QLD Driver’s licence.
  • This position requires the physical ability to safely perform regular standing, walking, lifting and handling of stock in line with WHS procedures.
