Job summary

The Salvation Army in Spring Hill, QLD is seeking a proactive Administration Assistant to join the Queensland Divisional Headquarters. You will support day-to-day operations, maintain records, and coordinate meetings and travel for division staff and officers.

Key duties include preparing communications, assisting with event logistics, and ensuring smooth office operations with attention to confidentiality and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated administration experience with sound knowledge and practical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organisational and communication skills with an eye for detail.
  • A current driver’s licence is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient administrative support, ensuring records, databases, files, and reports are maintained accurately and up to date.
  • Coordinate travel, accommodation, meetings, and event logistics for the Division.
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of divisional communications, including newsletters, website content, and event calendars.
  • Act as a key contact for administrative enquiries and provide support to staff across the Division.
  • Support the planning and delivery of meetings, workshops, and events, both onsite and offsite.
  • Manage office resources and facilities, including supplies, shared equipment, room bookings, pool vehicles, and contractor coordination.
  • Provide reception relief as required, including handling enquiries, processing mail, and maintaining confidentiality.

Working Hours: 38 hours per week | Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and organised Administration Assistant to join our team at the Queensland Divisional Headquarters in Spring Hill. In this role, you will work collaboratively as part of a supportive team to provide a wide range of administrative services to the Division, including Area Officers, Corps Officers, and Divisional staff. Your contribution will play a vital role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and effective communication across the Division.

What you will bring
  • Demonstrated administration experience, with sound knowledge and practical skills relevant to the role.
  • Certificate III in Business Administration or equivalent qualification (desirable).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong organisational and communication skills with an eye for detail.
  • A current driver’s licence is preferred.
