Job summary

Optimal Recruitment Pty Ltd in Sydney's Northern Beaches is seeking a hands-on pick packer to ensure meals are prepared, packed correctly, and delivered on time. The role is based in Sydney and operates Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., in a small friendly team within a fast-paced warehouse environment.

You will pick customer orders, check quantities, scan and label items, handle stock, and maintain safety and accuracy while working in cold/frozen conditions with all gear provided.

Our client is an Australian meal delivery business connecting customers with delicious, handmade meals prepared by accredited home cooks. Every meal is crafted in small batches using authentic family recipes, then freshly frozen and delivered directly to homes across Sydney.

As they continue to grow they have a need for a hands-on pick packer who will ensure their customers receive the right meals, packed carefully and delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Pick customer orders accurately using pick slips
• Check products, quantities and batch numbers
• Pack and seal customer orders to quality standards
• Label and prepare orders for courier collection
• Scan and update shipment information
• Vacuum seal and label incoming products
• Receive and check stock deliveries
• Organise freezer storage and rotate stock correctly
• Assist with stocktakes and inventory control
• Maintain accurate stock records
• Keep work areas clean, organised and safe
• Follow food safety and quality procedures
• Support the team to meet daily operational targets

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Has previous warehouse, pick packing or order fulfilment experience
• Is reliable, hardworking and self-motivated
• Has excellent attention to detail
• Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
• Can work efficiently while maintaining high accuracy
• Is comfortable working in cold and freezer conditions (all gear provided)
• Is physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
• Has basic computer skills and confidence using scanners and warehouse systems
• Has a current driver's licence and reliable transport for early starts

Bonus Points For

• Experience in food manufacturing, food distribution or e-commerce
• Knowledge of inventory management systems such as Cin7 or Shopify
• Food handling or food safety experience
• A genuine passion for great food
