Job summary

Meyer Timber Victoria is seeking a Warehouse Operations Coordinator for the Dandenong South operation. This hands-on role focuses on coordinating daily workloads, transport, despatch and ensuring safety and efficiency across the warehouse while supporting two Operations Managers.

You will grow into a leadership position over 2–5 years, working Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with a path to develop further within Meyer Timber's national network.

Qualifications

• 12+ months’ experience in organising and planning transport/trucking and/or warehouse operations.
• Strong organization, planning and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Hands-on problem solving with timely decision making.
• Emerging leader with appetite to learn; relevant qualifications in warehousing, logistics or leadership are desirable.

About the Position

We are looking for a practical, organised and people-focused Warehouse Operations Coordinator to support the smooth running of our Dandenong South operation. This is a developing leadership role, where you will help ensure warehouse operations are safe, productive and cohesive, with team happiness at the heart of your approach.

Working closely with our two Operations Managers and the Warehouse Operations Team across day and afternoon shifts, you will coordinate daily work, support transport and despatch, and be a trusted first point of contact when challenges arise. For the right person, this is a meaningful pathway towards a Warehouse Operations Manager role within approximately 2–5 years.

Key responsibilities associated with the role include:

• Communication & Team Relationships
  Build trust through daily contact with team members. Listen, communicate priorities clearly, encourage open conversations and help create a positive and happy team vibe.

• Daily Workload Planning & Coordination
  Allocate work according to team members’ strengths and capacity; clarify tasks and deadlines, monitor progress and adjust resources to achieve daily production and delivery commitments.

• Safety & Compliance
  Promote shared responsibility for safety, encourage prompt reporting and support the Operations Managers in following up workplace safety requirements and corrective actions.

• Freight, Transport & Despatch
  Coordinate delivery schedules, truck runs and load assignments; check that orders are complete and undamaged before departure and help improve freight efficiency and service.

• Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
  Be available when the team encounters roadblocks. Think on your feet, resolve or elevate issues promptly, and identify practical improvements to warehouse workflow, productivity and stock layout.

• Warehouse & Facility Support
  Work with colleagues on stocktakes, reducing damage and waste, equipment maintenance, contractor coordination and keeping the warehouse safe, functional and organised.

About You

• At least 12 months’ experience organising and planning transport/trucking and/or warehouse operations, including coordinating people, tasks, loads, schedules or workflow.

• Solid and practical organisation, planning and time management skills, with the ability to respond when priorities change.

• Above-average communication and relationship-building skills; a genuine interest in getting to know people and contributing to team dynamics.

• Confident, hands-on problem solving and timely decision making; a reliable person who follows through and knows when to elevate.

• An emerging leader with an appetite to learn and grow. Relevant qualifications or training in warehousing, logistics, safety or leadership are desirable.
