Job summary

SWD Australia is seeking a hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to lead our busy Brisbane warehouse floor. You’ll direct the team, ensure discipline, document toolbox talks, and manage attendance lifecycle including breaks and labour allocation.

On inbound, dispatch and returns you’ll ensure accuracy and timely processing, manage freight partners, driver performance, and safety checks, with a strong emphasis on stock control and compliance.

Responsibilities

Job description

SWD Brisbane runs a busy warehouse including receiving, dispatch, drivers and returns, and we need someone experienced enough to keep it all moving without needing to be told twice. It’s a hands‑on job which means you’ll be on the floor with the team, not managing from a spreadsheet.

About the Role

You’ll set the tone for the team by giving them clear direction, fair discipline, and toolbox talks that get properly documented. Attendance, breaks and labour allocation are on you, and when something needs sorting out, whether it’s a performance issue or friction on the floor, you deal with it early rather than letting it sit.

On the inbound side, stock gets unloaded, checked, receipted and put away properly. If something doesn’t add up, you chase it down straight away to get stock sorted for the customer, all while keeping documents and paperwork in order.

Dispatch is where it counts most day to day. Orders need to be picked accurately, packed properly, and out the door on time. When something goes wrong such as a picking error, a late dispatch, a mislabelled box, it gets caught and fixed, not carried over as tomorrow’s problem. You’ll also manage our freight partners directly, chasing delays and missing freight before a customer has to ask.

You’ll keep an eye on the driver team too: run sheets, delivery standards, how they carry themselves on the road and on‑site. Vehicle checks and servicing need to stay current as a safety requirement.

Returns get processed within the timeframes we’ve agreed on, inspected, tested where needed, and either put away, quarantined or scrapped. If the same issue keeps popping up, flag it to the Purchasing team so it doesn’t just keep happening.

Stock accuracy matters, so cycle counts happen regularly and any variance gets chased down and explained, not left hanging. Keep the floor clean and organised, keep racking and MHE safe and used properly, and make sure nothing moves in or out without a transaction going through the ERP (Pronto).

Safety comes first, genuinely, not just as a line in a job ad. That means leading by example on PPE, manual handling and equipment use, running safety checks and risk assessments on schedule, and acting immediately on anything that looks like a breach.

You’ll also report regularly on:

• Any formal complaints that come in
• Inventory accuracy and stocktake variances
• Safety incidents, near misses and compliance items
• MHE condition and servicing
• RFQs for anything the warehouse needs, and overtime requests for approval

Reports need to be accurate, on time, and backed by action, not just numbers on a page.

About You

• Real experience running a warehouse or logistics team, not just working in one.
• Solid understanding of WH&S practices in a warehouse setting
• Able to hold people accountable in a productive and growth orientated way
• Comfortable working with ERP systems and using the data to make calls (Pronto Experience Preferred).
• Current Forklift Licence and preferably (But not required) a LO licence too
• High attention to detail and strong decision‑making skills
• Genuinely safety‑conscious, not just compliant on paper.
