Avida is a family-owned manufacturer of Motorhomes and Caravans in Australia, located in Emu Plains, Western Sydney. We are seeking a Warehouse Assistant to support production on the factory floor and manage materials-handling tasks.

You will operate forklifts and bins, perform fibreglass roll changes, deliver pallets to production lines, and backfill picker duties during peak demand. A strong commitment to WHS, teamwork, and clear communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid forklift licence (LF) is essential.
• Experience with heavy materials handling or production support operations.
• Strong understanding of WHS requirements, including manual handling and hazard awareness.
• Ability to follow procedures, work autonomously, and prioritise effectively.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate electric and fork-tipper bins for efficient movement and disposal of production materials.
• Ensure bins are correctly positioned, emptied, cleaned, and rotated as required.
• Report any damage or maintenance issues related to bins or handling equipment.
• Perform safe and accurate changeovers of fibreglass laminating rolls and inspect for defects.
• Deliver pallets to line locations according to production schedules and communicate with line leaders.
• Maintain Kanban loops and escalate shortages or repeated consumption issues.
• Assist main pickers in preparing production kits and fulfil work orders; backfill picker duties as required.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment; participate in toolbox talks and continuous-improvement initiatives.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment safely and within licence requirements.

Position Purpose: Warehouse Assistant

The Warehouse Assistant provides essential materials-handling and production support across the manufacturing floor.

This role ensures the safe, timely, and efficient movement of goods, maintenance of supply flows, and completion of specialised support tasks required to keep production running smoothly.

The position requires strong situational awareness, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work both independently and within a fast-paced team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operate electric and fork-tipper bins for efficient movement and disposal of production materials.

Ensure bins are correctly positioned, emptied, cleaned, and rotated as required.

Report any damage or maintenance issues related to bins or handling equipment.

2. Fibreglass Laminating Roll Changes

Perform safe and accurate changeovers of fibreglass laminating rolls.

Inspect rolls for defects and ensure correct installation to support continuous production.

3. Line-Level Pallet Drops

Deliver pallets to line locations according to production schedules.

Maintain clear communication with line leaders to ensure timely replenishment.

Verify pallet accuracy, condition, and compliance with line requirements.

Ensure Kanban loops are functioning correctly and not causing production delays.

Escalate shortages or repeated consumption issues.

5. Main Picker Support Tasks

Assist main pickers in preparing production kits and fulfilling work orders.

Support warehouse picking and staging activities during peak demand.

Backfill picker duties as required to maintain workflow efficiency.

Report any inventory discrepancies or damaged goods promptly.

General Duties

Maintain a safe and clean working environment in line with WHS standards.

Assist production staff and other support roles with ad-hoc tasks as required.

Participate in toolbox talks, training, and continuous-improvement activities.

Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment safely and within licence requirements.
