About the role

Custom Designs Caringbah is seeking a dedicated Warehouse Assistant to join our team in Caringbah, NSW. This is a part-time position that plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and distribution centre. As a Warehouse Assistant, you will support our logistics operations by maintaining inventory accuracy, organising stock, and assisting with the efficient movement of goods. Your contribution will be essential in helping us deliver excellent service to our customers and maintain the high standards that Custom Designs Caringbah is known for.

Key responsibilities

• Receiving and unpacking goods upon arrival, verifying contents against delivery documentation
• Storing items in designated locations using appropriate shelving and storage systems
• Picking and packing orders accurately and efficiently to meet delivery schedules
• Maintaining accurate inventory records and assisting with stock counts and audits
• Operating warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, trolleys and hand trucks safely and responsibly
• Organising and maintaining a clean, safe and orderly warehouse environment
• Following health and safety procedures and reporting any hazards or incidents immediately
• Assisting with labelling and re-shelving of products as needed
• Supporting the warehouse team to meet daily targets and deadlines

What we're looking for

• Previous experience working in a warehouse, distribution centre or similar logistics environment is highly desirable
• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling tasks, including lifting and carrying items of varying weights
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accuracy in stock management and order picking
• Ability to work safely and responsibly, with a solid understanding of health and safety practices in warehouse environments
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Reliability and punctuality, with a flexible approach to part-time scheduling
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification would be advantageous
• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus
