The Proserpine Hospital, part of the Whitsunday Health Service in Queensland, is seeking a Wardsperson on a permanent basis to provide 24/7 support for staff and patient care, including cleaning, waste removal, patient handling, and transportation of patients, equipment, linen and materials.

This role supports the Team Leader, Supervisors and the Manager of Operational Services, with a focus on maintaining clean, safe and efficient hospital operations across the Proserpine and Cannonvale

Qualifications

• Experience in hospital support roles preferred.
• Ability to work across a 24/7 roster.
• Good communication with clinical staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide cleaning, waste removal and linen handling.
• Transport patients and equipment around hospital.
• Support Team Leaders and Managers of Operational Services.

Role detailsThe Proserpine Hospital is seeking applications for a Wardsperson to join their team on a permanent basis.For information on how to apply and the mandatory requirements for this role, please refer to the attached Role Description.Your opportunityThis position will be responsible for providing a 24 hour / 7-day week support service for multi-disciplinary staff and patient care including cleaning, removal of waste, patient handling, transportation of patients, equipment, linen and materials around the hospital. This position will also be required to work with and provide support and advice to Team Leader, Supervisors and/or Manager of Operational Services.About the TeamThe Whitsunday Health Service is made up of two facilities: The Community Health Campus - Cannonvale and the Hospital Campus - Proserpine. The hospital is a 33-bed acute hospital, which offers a number of specialty inpatient and outpatient services. The Community Health Campus offers a range of Community Health services provided by a multi-disciplinary team.Operational Services provides and co-ordinates a diverse range of services that support the clinical divisions in the delivery of patient centred health care at Proserpine Hospital.
