Mackay Hospital and Health Service in Queensland invites applications for a Wardsperson at Proserpine Hospital on a permanent basis. The role provides 24/7 support for multidisciplinary staff and patient care, including cleaning, waste removal, patient handling, transport of patients, equipment, linen and materials.

You will work with the Team Leader, Supervisors and the Manager of Operational Services within a team that includes Cleaning, Wardsperson, Waste Management, Grounds and Gardens,

Role details

The Proserpine Hospital is seeking applications for a Wardsperson to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity

This position will be responsible for providing a 24 hour / 7-day week support service for multi-disciplinary staff and patient care including cleaning, removal of waste, patient handling, transportation of patients, equipment, linen and materials around the hospital. This position will also be required to work with and provide support and advice to Team Leader, Supervisors and/or Manager of Operational Services.

About The Team

The Whitsunday Health Service is made up of two facilities: The Community Health Campus – Cannonvale and the Hospital Campus – Proserpine. The hospital is a 33-bed acute hospital, which offers a number of specialty inpatient and outpatient services. The Community Health Campus offers a range of Community Health services provided by a multi-disciplinary team.

Operational Services provides and co-ordinates a diverse range of services that support the clinical divisions in the delivery of patient centred health care at Proserpine Hospital. The department consists of the following keys areas: Cleaning Services, Wardsperson Services, Waste Management, Grounds and Gardens, Laundry, Catering and Theatre support.
