As a Ward Clerk at Scone Memorial Hospital, you will provide essential administrative and clerical support to the ward, helping ensure the delivery of safe, timely and coordinated patient care.
You will be a first point of contact for patients, families, visitors and healthcare providers, managing reception and telephone enquiries, maintaining accurate patient records, processing admissions, transfers and discharges, updating electronic health systems and coordinating clinical documentation. Working closely with nursing, medical, allied health and support staff, you will help facilitate communication and the smooth day-to-day operation of the ward.
This role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy and changing environment. You will also assist with correspondence, appointments, filing and other administrative tasks while maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
You will receive a structured district and local orientation, on-the-job training and ongoing support from experienced colleagues and managers. You will join the Scone Administration Team at Scone Memorial Hospital, a collaborative and community-focused team committed to providing professional administrative and reception services that support high-quality, patient-centred care.
As part of a rural hospital, you will work closely with colleagues across a range of disciplines in a friendly and supportive environment where teamwork, respect and excellent customer service are valued. The team takes pride in being adaptable, professional and focused on continuous improvement, with every member contributing to the care and wellbeing of the local community.
We are looking for an organised, adaptable and reliable person who is committed to providing excellent customer service in a healthcare environment.
Previous experience in administration, reception or a healthcare setting is highly regarded. While experience with NSW Health systems and hospital procedures is desirable, training and support will be provided to help you develop the necessary skills.
Most importantly, you will be eager to learn, embrace change and contribute positively to a respectful and supportive team dedicated to serving the local community.
