Job description

70% of gross billings or a $200 per hour minimum guarantee for the first three months, whichever is higher.

Employment Type

Permanent – Full-Time/Part-Time.

Minimum 2.5 days per week on-site, with the opportunity to increase sessions if desired.

Practice Information

This established bulk-billing community medical centre has served the Bundaberg community for decades and provides comprehensive general practice services across a broad patient population, including preventive health, chronic disease management, acute presentations, health assessments and routine general practice. The practice maintains an established patient base that includes multigenerational families.
The practice features six consulting rooms, three treatment rooms, experienced practice management, registered nursing support, reception and administrative support, AGPAL accreditation and modern computerised systems. The clinic operates Monday to Friday and is located opposite Bundaberg Base Hospital. The organisation type supplied is Community Health Service.

Position Description

An experienced Vocationally Registered General Practitioner is sought to join an established practice in Bundaberg West. This opportunity is suited to a GP who wishes to combine autonomous clinical practice with the supervision and mentoring of junior doctors and GP registrars while working in a long-established community medical centre with strong local demand.

The successful candidate will manage their own patients while being supported by an experienced practice team. The clinic provides comprehensive general practice services across a broad community patient population, including preventive health, chronic disease management, acute presentations, health assessments and routine general practice.

A key component of this position is providing on-site clinical supervision for at least 2.5 days per week. This role would suit a GP who enjoys:

• Teaching and mentoring junior doctors
• Supporting GP registrars and developing clinicians
• Providing practical clinical guidance
• Contributing to a supportive medical team
• Taking on a modest leadership and educational role alongside clinical work

Previous formal GP supervision experience is highly regarded; however, doctors interested in developing their supervisory role are encouraged to enquire.

Position Requirements

• Vocationally Registered General Practitioner with Specialist Registration with AHPRA.
• FRACGP and/or FACRRM.
• Previous GP supervision or teaching experience, or an interest in developing this capability.
• Strong communication and clinical skills.
• Collaborative approach to working with junior doctors and the wider practice team.
• Current authority to work as a VR GP in Australia.

Applications will not be considered from candidates who do not currently hold Specialist Registration with AHPRA to work as a VR GP.

After Hours Requirements

No after-hours or weekend requirement.
