Job summary

Goldman Sachs Sydney is seeking an Engineer, VP to own the production environment for GS Electronic Trading (GSET). You will build and support low-latency services, manage deployments, and work with global trading and tech teams.

The role emphasizes strong Python/Unix skills, plus Java or C++, and experience with SDLC, automation, and monitoring. You\'ll contribute to a scalable, reliable trading platform and partake in incident response and performance tuning.

Qualifications

• Experience with low-latency trading systems and real-time monitoring.
• Strong development and troubleshooting abilities across multiple platforms.
• Ability to collaborate with global teams and production support personnel.

Responsibilities

• Own the production environment.
• Develop and support a configuration, resource allocation, and deployment system for electronic trading platform.
• Enhance existing or implement production support tooling and release management system.
• Apply knowledge of core technology and infrastructure including tooling, testing, automation and monitoring to reduce operational risk.
• Provide critical day-to-day production support, incident and crisis management with in-depth technical expertise.
• Manage system health proactively through monitoring, alerting, provisioning and capacity management.
• Collaborate with Asia Pac and global teams on local and regional initiatives.
• Demonstrate strong development experience in Java/C++; prior developer experience is a plus.
• Proficient in Python, shell scripts, and SQL.
• Proficient in UNIX environments and Linux-based applications.
• Understand SDLC from analysis to production release.
• Use orchestration tools including Gradle, Git, Confluence, or JIRA.
• Show strong analytical and communication skills.
