Job summary

Showtime Consulting in Canberra is seeking an experienced VMware Engineer to design, deliver and optimise enterprise virtualization for critical government infrastructure. You will work with networking, storage and security teams to uplift platforms, perform migrations and provide ongoing operational support.

Candidates should have 5+ years of VMware experience and be Australian citizens with an active NV2 security clearance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience supporting enterprise VMware environments.
• Strong experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi and vCenter.
• Experience managing enterprise virtualization platforms in critical infrastructure.
• Experience with upgrades, migrations and lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of storage, networking and server infra technologies.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in government, defence, or regulated environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and support VMware virtualization environments.
• Administer VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
• Perform upgrades, migrations, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Troubleshoot complex virtualization issues.
• Maintain high availability and performance of VMware platforms.
• Collaborate with networking, storage and security teams.
• Support change management and release processes.
• Contribute to technical documentation and system designs.
• Participate in infrastructure modernisation initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance to project and operations teams.
