Job summary

Veeam Software is seeking a Virtualization Backup Engineer to join our Technical Customer Support team. In this role you will troubleshoot complex backup and virtualization issues, coordinate with IT professionals, and guide customers toward rapid resolution.

You will work with Windows Server environments (2016–2025), VMware ESX(i), Hyper-V, and related technologies, documenting all interactions and maintaining SLA-quality service while continuously learning.

Qualifications

• Fluent English in reading, writing and speaking.
• Proficient with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022/2025 and Windows 10/11.
• Strong TCP/IP networking knowledge and firewall/DNS/DHCP basics.
• Experience with VMware ESX(i), Hyper-V, Exchange server administration; SQL/Oracle DB knowledge.
• Quick learner, capable of ownership and clear customer communication.
• Excellent time management in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and analyze customer issues, including log investigations.
• Act as technical focal point with IT professionals and customers.
• Own cases from start to resolution, troubleshooting in Veeam and third-party components.
• Document all interactions accurately within SLA in CRM.

Technical Customer Support is our customers’ “hotline.” This is a department that has revolutionized the way we think about technical support. They face the challenging reality of one-on-one support and leave our customers with a positive impression, providing invaluable feedback to developers and testers.

We are now looking for Virtualization Backup Engineer.

What You’ll Do

• Performing troubleshooting and analysis, including log file investigation
• Acting as a technical focal point in relationships to fellow IT Professionals
• Taking ownership of the customer problem or issue from the beginning of a support case through resolution, troubleshooting on our end (in Veeam) as well as in 3rd party components from Microsoft and Vmware, checking if the issue is known or unknown if it’s a defect if it’s caused by misconfiguration, correcting it as break/fix scenario and educating the customer by explaining for the process and interaction works
• Documenting of all customer interactions accurately and within SLA in our CRM tool

What You’ll Bring

• Fluent English (reading/writing/speaking)
• Advanced user or administrative level with the following areas:Windows Server 2016 / 2019 / 2022 / 2025, Windows 10 / 11
• Practical knowledge of TCP/IP(OS, firewalls configuration) and networking configuration/troubleshooting (NAT, ports, DHCP, DNS)
• As a plus, UNIX and/or Linux knowledge, VMware ESX(i), Microsoft Hyper-V, Microsoft Exchange server administration, DataBase engines (SQL/Oracle)
• Ability to quickly learn, understand and explain technical information
• Ability and desire to take ownership of client issues through resolution
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
