Job summary

City of Wodonga is seeking a Casual Multicultural Program Officer – Vietnamese Storytime to design and deliver engaging sessions for children and families. You will work with Hyphen Library Gallery to foster inclusion, language development and community participation through stories, songs, rhymes and activities.

The role focuses on delivering Storytime in Vietnamese, building connections with families and services, and contributing to multicultural programming. Applications close soon.

Qualifications

• Fluent Vietnamese language skills (essential).
• Experience working with young children in education, community, library or similar setting.
• Confidence delivering engaging activities to groups of children and families.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly, reliable and customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and build positive community relationships.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Vietnamese Storytime sessions.
• Plan and facilitate interactive Storytime programs in Vietnamese using stories, songs, rhymes and activities that support children's early literacy, learning and development.
• Build community connections with Vietnamese-speaking families and local services to encourage participation.
• Contribute to multicultural initiatives and outreach across Hyphen services.
• Provide outstanding customer service by welcoming visitors, assisting with enquiries and supporting bookings.
• Support library services by assisting with maintaining collections and daily delivery of library programs.
