City of Wodonga is seeking a Casual Multicultural Program Officer – Vietnamese Storytime to design and deliver engaging sessions for children and families. You will work with Hyphen Library Gallery to foster inclusion, language development and community participation through stories, songs, rhymes and activities.

Casual Position
$37.86 per hour + casual loading and superannuation
As part of the Hyphen Library Gallery team, you'll design and deliver engaging Vietnamese Storytime sessions that encourage early literacy, language development and community participation. Through storytelling, songs, rhymes and creative activities, you'll create welcoming experiences for children and caregivers while supporting Hyphen's commitment to inclusion, lifelong learning and cultural diversity.
Deliver engaging Vietnamese Storytime sessions
Plan and facilitate interactive Storytime programs in Vietnamese using stories, songs, rhymes and activities that support children's early literacy, learning and development.
Build community connections
Develop positive relationships with Vietnamese-speaking families, early learning services and community organisations to encourage participation and strengthen community engagement.
Support multicultural programming
Contribute to multicultural initiatives and community outreach activities that celebrate cultural diversity and promote inclusive participation across Hyphen services.
Provide outstanding customer service
Welcome visitors, assist with library enquiries, support program bookings and contribute to a positive and inclusive customer experience.
Support library services
Assist with maintaining library collections and contribute to the day-to-day delivery of quality library services as part of the Hyphen team.
Fluent Vietnamese language skills (essential).
Experience working with young children in an education, community, library or similar setting.
Confidence delivering engaging activities to groups of children and families.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A friendly, reliable and customer-focused approach.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and build positive community relationships.
