Job summary

Freyssinet Australia is seeking a motivated and ambitious VIE Design Engineer to join our Corrosion & Technical Services team. This role offers early‑career engineers the chance to gain international experience while contributing to corrosion mitigation, asset protection, and infrastructure remediation projects across Australia.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will assist in design of corrosion protection solutions, prepare calculations, reports and drawings, and support site

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil, Structural, Materials, Mechanical, or a related Engineering discipline.
• Eligible for the VIE program.
• Interest in infrastructure durability, structural remediation, corrosion engineering, and asset management.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering design software is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and development of corrosion protection and remediation solutions.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
• Support condition assessments, inspections, and technical investigations of existing structures.
• Collaborate with construction, project, and technical teams to develop practical engineering solutions.
• Contribute to project planning, methodology development, and technical documentation.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant Australian Standards and project requirements.
• Participate in site visits and inspections as required.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and technical innovation within the business.

About the Role

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will support the design and engineering of corrosion mitigation and asset protection solutions for a diverse range of infrastructure projects. This role offers excellent exposure to technical design, project engineering, site investigations, and client engagement.

Key Responsibilities
