Job description

At Cornerstone Consulting Group, we believe in growing together. One of the ways we do this is by partnering with leading Australian organisations to recruit exceptional talent that helps businesses scale sustainably.

We are proud to be partnering with Freshwater Systems Australia, a South Australian owned and operated water treatment business that designs, manufactures and delivers high quality water treatment solutions for some of Australia’s most critical and regulated environments.

For over 30 years, Freshwater Systems has built a strong reputation working with hospitals, healthcare providers, consultants, builders and major contractors, delivering complex water treatment systems that meet the highest compliance and performance standards.

As Freshwater’s Victorian business continues to grow, we are now seeking an experienced Victorian State Manager to lead and expand their presence across Victoria, with secondary responsibility for Tasmania.

This is a senior, sales focused role with genuine autonomy, strong backing, flexible working arrangements and long-term opportunity.

A Day in the Life

As Victorian State Manager, you will be the senior commercial and relationship lead for Freshwater Systems in Victoria, owning opportunities from first conversation through to successful delivery.

Your role is a balance of sales, relationship management and high-level project oversight. Your day could include:

  • Developing new business opportunities (Sales & Service) across healthcare, agricultural, industrial and commercial sectors
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with consultants, builders, plumbers and facility managers
  • Leading early-stage project conversations and shaping solutions alongside internal technical teams
  • Managing projects at a high level once won, keeping stakeholders aligned, timelines on track and risks visible
  • Coordinating internal teams and external partners to ensure projects progress smoothly from sale to completion
  • Maintaining an active pipeline, developing call plans and reporting on sales activity and forecasts
  • Managing and supporting a small local service team as the Victorian business continues to grow

This role is not a service technician position. The focus is on commercial ownership, coordination and outcomes, rather than installation or technical execution.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Ideally, has strong experience or technical knowledge of the water treatment industry, including filtration and reverse osmosis and pump systems
  • Is confident selling and managing complex or capital projects as well as simple filtration and pump systems
  • Enjoys owning work end to end and keeping multiple stakeholders aligned
  • Is commercially minded, organised and proactive in their approach
  • Is comfortable working autonomously while staying closely connected to a national team
  • Is ready to step away from hands on service work into a senior sales and leadership role
The Opportunity

You will not be starting from scratch. Freshwater Systems has an established presence in Victoria, active client relationships, live projects and a pipeline of new work, providing a solid platform to build from.

Importantly, the Victorian operation is backed by Freshwater’s long-standing South Australian business, which has been operating for over 30 years and is supported by a team of around 40 people across engineering, manufacturing, technical, service and sales.

Over the coming years, this role will play a key part in shaping the Victorian operation, including:

  • Growing and managing an increasing portfolio of Capital projects
  • Expanding the local team as demand continues to grow
  • Putting structure, rhythm and leadership around the Victorian business
  • Helping build a fully resourced and self-sustaining state operation

For the right person, this is an opportunity to move beyond individual sales and into genuine state leadership, with the backing of an established national business and the ability to influence how the Victorian operation grows into the future.

Why Join Freshwater Systems?

At Freshwater Systems, you will:

  • Take ownership of a state operation and play a key role in its long-term growth
  • Work on meaningful, technically complex projects in critical industries
  • Be supported by an experienced national technical, design and manufacturing team
  • Join a stable, Australian owned business with a strong industry reputation
  • Have the opportunity to grow with the business over the long term
Working Style & What’s on Offer
  • Flexible working arrangements, including the ability to work from home
  • Access to a Melbourne office based in Tullamarine
  • Fully maintained company vehicle and full tools of trade provided
  • Strong national support across engineering, technical, service and sales
  • A senior, autonomous role with long-term career and leadership opportunity
