Job summary

Sevenoaks Senior College invites applications for a permanent full-time Vice Principal role commencing Term 1, 2027. The Vice Principal will lead a unique senior schooling model, supporting students to Find Your Future through personalised pathways and a strong Young Adult Ethos.

This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2027

Sevenoaks Senior College is committed to developing a unique model of 21st Century Senior Schooling to ensure that every student is well equipped to deal with the opportunities of their post school pathways.

Sevenoaks is a standalone senior college being only one of two in the metropolitan area which offer specialised pathways to senior school students in Years 11 and 12. Students enrol with us from over 40 schools and represent over 60 cultures. Our college is managed differently with greater flexibility for students as they map out their future in a supportive and inclusive young adult learning environment. The Role

The Vice Principal plays a pivotal leadership role in advancing the College's vision of empowering students to "Find Your Future" through a unique model of senior schooling that combines personalised learning, strong pathways, cultural responsiveness and wellbeing. The role is centred on ensuring that every student is supported to successfully transition to further education, training or employment, while fostering a strong sense of connection, belonging and personal responsibility.

As a key member of the College leadership team, the Vice Principal leads initiatives that strengthen the College's Young Adult Ethos, which underpins all interactions with students and encourages the development of self-agency, accountability and independence. Working collaboratively with program coordinators, teaching staff, advocates, families and external partners, the Vice Principal promotes a culture where students are known, supported and challenged to achieve their individual goals.

The Vice Principal has an important responsibility in driving school improvement through the implementation of the College's strategic priorities: Connecting and Belonging, Quality Learning, Successful Students, Learning Organisation, and Local to Global partnerships. This includes supporting high-quality teaching practices, monitoring student engagement and achievement, overseeing wellbeing initiatives, and ensuring equitable access to personalised pathways that reflect students' aspirations and strengths.

A significant aspect of the role involves building productive relationships with universities, industry partners, community organisations and families to expand opportunities for students and strengthen post-school pathways. The Vice Principal also contributes to developing a collaborative and future-focused workforce by fostering collective efficacy, cultural responsiveness and professional growth among staff.

Ultimately, the Vice Principal provides strategic and operational leadership that ensures Sevenoaks Senior College remains a leader in senior schooling, supporting a diverse community of young adults to thrive academically, socially and personally as they prepare for successful and sustainable futures.

Eligibility

• be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
• hold registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia
• obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
• consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
