Job summary

Port Kennedy Primary School in Western Australia is recruiting for a Deputy Principal to provide dynamic, strategic leadership in curriculum delivery, staff development and student wellbeing. Responsibilities

• Oversee data-informed monitoring and interventions to maximise learning outcomes.
• Contribute to school events planning and delivery.
• Ensure delivery of the school Business Plan through data analysis.

We are seeking to establish a pool of Deputy Principal’s for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2028.Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

The Deputy Principal role is dynamic and diverse! While specific elements of the Deputy Principal's portfolio are negotiated with the school leadership team, responsibilities may include:

• Leading curriculum implementation and supporting high-quality, evidence-based teaching practices to improve student outcomes.
• Supporting staff development by encouraging professional growth and reflective practice, empowering teachers and providing differentiated support throughout their improvement journeys.
• Collaborating closely with phase-of-learning team leaders to foster a culture of collective responsibility, teacher-led change and continuous school improvement.
• Working collaboratively and sensitively with students, families, staff, external agencies and Department of Education support services to strengthen engagement, wellbeing and educational outcomes.
• Coordinating and overseeing case management, attendance, behaviour, disability resourcing and intervention processes for students requiring additional support.
• Prioritising student wellbeing and promoting inclusive, trauma-informed and restorative practices across the school.
• Coordinating and supporting the effective planning and delivery of whole-school events, activities and programs.
• Ensuring the delivery of the school’s Business Plan through data-informed decision-making, monitoring student progress and implementing evidence-based interventions to maximise learning outcomes.
• Analysing system and school-based assessment data to identify priorities, monitor impact and guide improvement planning.
• Managing multiple and competing priorities effectively within a busy, complex and fast-paced school environment.
