Job summary

Morley Vetcentre is seeking a Certificate IV qualified Veterinary Nurse for a predominantly reception-based role with the opportunity to undertake consult nursing shifts. You will bring clinical knowledge to the front of house, confidently advising clients and preparing medications under veterinary direction.

The role is 3–4 days per week, roughly 7:15am–7:30pm with Monday availability essential; weekend work may be required. A friendly, organized, client-focused approach is essential.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of veterinary experience preferred.
• Strong communication and time-management skills are essential.

Veterinary Receptionist / Consult Nurse – Morley Vet Centre

Love veterinary nursing, but looking for a role with more of a client-focused twist?

Morley Vetcentre is looking for a Certificate IV qualified Veterinary Nurse to join our team in a predominantly reception-based role, with the opportunity to also undertake consult nursing shifts.

This isn’t your typical veterinary receptionist position. We’re looking for someone who can bring their clinical knowledge to the front of house – someone who understands what clients are asking, can confidently provide appropriate advice, prepare medications under veterinary direction, and work closely with our vets and nursing team to make sure our clients and patients are well looked after.

About us

Morley Vetcentre is a busy, well-established small animal hospital with a large and experienced team of 10 vets and around 40 staff.

We offer a broad range of services, including comprehensive veterinary care, boarding, grooming and dog training, all from the one location. We’re fortunate to have a large and loyal client base, with many families trusting our team with their pets across generations. You’ll be joining a supportive and experienced team, with plenty of variety in your day and the opportunity to continue using your nursing skills while taking on a more client-focused role.

About the role

Your role will be primarily reception-based, with the opportunity for consult nursing shifts depending on your interests and the needs of the clinic.

Day to day, you’ll be helping manage appointments and enquiries, supporting clients with questions about their pets, preparing medications as directed by our vets, coordinating communication between clients and the clinical team, and helping manage the flow of a busy veterinary hospital.

We’re looking for someone to work approximately 3–4 days per week. Shifts will vary between approximately 7:15am and 7:30pm, and Monday availability is essential. Some weekend work will also form part of the roster, with no on-call or after-hours requirements.

About you

You’ll hold a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and ideally have at least 1–3 years of experience in a veterinary environment. Most importantly, you’ll be someone who genuinely enjoys working with people as much as their pets.

You’ll bring strong communication and time-management skills, a friendly and approachable manner, confidence speaking with clients about their pets’ care, and the ability to stay organised in a busy hospital environment. An interest in consult nursing would also be highly regarded.
