Job summary

Department of Education Victoria – Hume VIC is seeking a Vocational Education and Training (VET) Cluster Coordinator to lead the implementation of the VET Cluster Framework across schools, training providers, and local industries.

Based in the Hume Merri-Bek area, the role involves travel, collaboration with the Jobs, Skills and Pathways team, and developing place-based planning to improve access to VET for secondary students.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in secondary school VET, including understanding DE, VCAA, VRQA, and ASQA policies.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating the delivery of VET across schools and training providers.

Responsibilities

• Deliver management functions to support the department's VET Cluster policy and guidance, including strategic planning and the VET Lifecycle.
• Coordinate and manage cluster governance and operations groups.
• Identify and lead planning and development of new programs to increase opportunities for young people.
• Monitor and evaluate cluster performance; lead self-audits and design improvement strategies.
• Support school-based VET Coordinators with professional development.
• Support introduction and implementation of the DE VET platform.
• Identify enrolment trends and plan to address access and provision gaps.
• Coordinate transport needs and contracts; liaise with transport administrators.
• Engage with transport providers on service availability, quotes, and scheduling.
• Facilitate alignment of cluster processes with the VET Lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain relationships with cluster stakeholders; act as central point of contact.
• Develop, maintain, and disseminate cluster documentation.
• Provide information to inform reporting for contracts and partnerships.
• The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties not specifically mentioned but within the capacity and experience normally expected at this level.
• The incumbent will be based at a primary location of work and may be expected to travel as required.
