Job summary

Irish Murphy's Hobart, a landmark waterfront venue, seeks an exceptional Venue Manager to lead operations across public bar, live music, dining and functions. You will drive guest experience with a strong leadership presence, supported by the Norton Hospitality Group’s national resources.

You will oversee teams, schedules, compliance, and financial performance while delivering an inviting atmosphere and memorable experiences for every guest.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead and coach a team to success.
• Excellent organisational skills to manage daily operations, staff and schedules.
• Strong communication, both verbal and written.
• Decisive with the ability to make quick, firm decisions.
• Creative approach to hospitality challenges.
• High integrity and accountability in all duties.
• Familiarity with liquor licensing, RSA laws, and health & safety compliance.
• Proficiency with POS systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of the venue including bar, dining and functions.
• Drive guest experience and operational performance with support from a national team.
• Coach and develop staff, schedule rosters and monitor performance.
• Ensure compliance with licensing, safety standards and cash handling procedures.
