Job summary

Moonlight Cinema Sydney is seeking a Venue Manager to lead a seasonal team of around 30, overseeing all aspects of venue operations, safety, customer experience, and commercial performance.

You will manage day-to-day operations, including bump-in/bump-out, rosters, payroll, and cost control, while recruiting and developing staff. Responsibilities include F&B, sponsorship deliverables, cinema content, and ensuring WHS compliance in a fast-paced, guest‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' experience in a venue, operations, hospitality, events, entertainment, retail or F&B management.
• Strong experience delivering exceptional customer service and leading high-performing teams.
• Experience managing and motivating a casual or seasonal workforce.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day venue operations, including site set-up and pack-down.
• Coordinate seasonal bump-in and bump-out activities, including production scheduling.
• Lead and develop a team of approximately 30 onsite crew members.
• Recruit, onboard, train, and develop seasonal staff.
• Manage Food & Beverage operations, including ordering, inventory, and invoicing.
• Oversee sponsorship activations and ensure all contractual deliverables are met.
• Prepare rosters, manage payroll, and control labour costs.
• Manage cinema content and support AV operations.
• Ensure compliance with WHS, plans, and company policies.
• Provide leadership during afternoon and evening shifts.

As Venue Manager, you will lead and inspire a seasonal workforce of approximately 30 team members while overseeing all aspects of venue operations, safety, customer experience, and commercial performance.

• Leading day-to-day venue operations, including site set-up and pack-down.
• Coordinating seasonal bump-in and bump-out activities, including production scheduling.
• Leading and developing a team of approximately 30 onsite crew members in partnership with the Assistant Venue Manager.
• Recruiting, onboarding, training, and developing seasonal team members.
• Managing Food & Beverage operations, including ordering, inventory control, and invoice processing.
• Overseeing sponsorship activations and ensuring all contractual deliverables are executed to a high standard.
• Preparing rosters, managing payroll, and controlling labour costs.
• Managing cinema content and supporting audio-visual operations, including screen and sound set-up.
• Ensuring compliance with management plans, workplace health and safety requirements, and company policies.
• Providing leadership during predominantly afternoon and evening shifts throughout the season.

About the Candidate

• At least 2 years' experience in a venue, operations, hospitality, events, entertainment, retail or Food & Beverage management role.
• Strong experience delivering exceptional customer service and leading high-performing teams.
• Experience managing and motivating a casual or seasonal workforce.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
• The ability to work autonomously, prioritise competing demands, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive, hands-on approach.
• Confidence learning and using new systems and operational processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience in cinema, events, outdoor entertainment, or venue management (highly regarded).
• Current RSA certification.
• Valid Australian Driver's Licence.

This is a fixed-term, full-time contract running from 13 October 2026 to 14 April 2027.
