Job summary

Netball WA is seeking an experienced Venue & Events Manager to lead the Gold Netball Centre and support major competitions, carnivals and events across WA. Reporting to the COO, you will drive growth, utilisation and commercial sustainability while ensuring a safe, well-presented venue and first-class customer service.

You will oversee day-to-day operations, staff and contractors, manage budgets and compliance, and identify opportunities to maximise revenue from events and external users.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Sports Management, Event Management, Business Management or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in venue management, event management or related field.
• RSA certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to work flexibly with rostered hours across weekdays, weekends and evenings.
• Experience managing a multi-use venue, including day-to-day operations, contractors, security, maintenance and stakeholder relationships.
• Experience in budget management, financial reporting and commercial operations.
• Proven ability to lead and manage staff, contractors and volunteers, including performance management and workforce planning.
• Experience in the not-for-profit/sport sector is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of the Gold Netball Centre (GNC), ensuring a safe, efficient, customer-focused venue.
• Manage venue operations and logistics for Netball WA competitions and community events.
• Oversee budgets and financial reporting under Co-Management with VenuesWest.
• Identify commercial opportunities to grow revenue through events and external users.
• Oversee security, access control, CCTV, alarms, staff and cash handling.
• Lead the Venue team, volunteers and contractors with workforce planning.
