Job summary

City of Gold Coast is seeking an accomplished leader to guide the planning, approval and delivery of a diverse city-wide events portfolio on the Gold Coast. As Manager Events, you will lead a multidisciplinary team and oversee council-led and community events, bookings and approvals, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will act as central executive liaison for event matters, coordinate with the CEO and Mayor, and drive continuous improvement across policies and processes to benefit

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with experience in managing large public events.
• Understanding of event-related local laws, approvals and permits is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across the City’s events, venue booking, event approval and permitting functions.
• Oversee planning and delivery of Council-led events, community events and public programs.
• Lead streamlined, compliant assessment and approval pathways for events on public and private land.
• Drive development and continuous improvement of event policies, frameworks and processes.
