Job summary

Pembrook Resourcing in Ipswich is seeking a Preparation Technician to prepare vehicles for sale or delivery, performing routine servicing and inspections. You will work in a busy dealership workshop and contribute to high standards of workmanship.

Requirements include a strong mechanical background, NVQ Level 3 desired, and a full UK driving licence. You will maintain records and may mentor junior technicians, with a Monday–Friday schedule and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician or Prep Technician, ideally within a dealership environment.
Strong mechanical knowledge and a solid understanding of automotive systems.
Proven ability to carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs to a high standard.
Excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
Ability to work in a busy workshop and manage priorities to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Prepare vehicles to a high standard for sale or delivery.
Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify issues and necessary repairs.
Carry out servicing tasks including oil changes, brake checks, and tyre rotations.
Collaborate with the workshop team to complete vehicles efficiently and safely.
Maintain accurate records of work, parts used, and time spent.
Mentor junior technicians and share knowledge to foster teamwork.
