Job summary

KPI People in Ipswich is seeking an experienced Prep Technician/Mechanic to join a busy workshop. You will service and repair to manufacturer standards, handle cambelt, clutch, gearbox and engine work, and perform electrical/mechanical diagnostics. MOT testing is available if qualified.

The role offers a basic salary up to £30,000 with on-target earnings of £35,000, plus training on EV/Hybrid tech and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance.
• Minimum of 2 years post-apprenticeship experience.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Servicing & Repairs are carried out to Manufacturer Standards.
• Cambelt, Clutch, Gearbox & Engine Repairs/Replacements.
• Electrical & Mechanical Diagnostics.
• Mechanic Warranty Repairs.
• Carry out MOT Tester to DVSA standards (If qualified).

Our client, a Busy Franchised Dealership in Ipswich have the requirement for experienced Prep Technician/Mechanic to join their established workshop team. Vehicle Technicians - Mechanics coming back to the motortrade are most welcome.

Vehicle Technician Responsibilities

• Ensure Servicing & Repairs are carried out to Manufacturer Standards
• Cambelt, Clutch, Gearbox & Engine Repairs/Replacements
• Electrical & Mechanical Diagnostics
• Mechanic Warranty Repairs
• Carry out MOT Tester to DVSA standards (If qualified)

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

• Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance
• 2 years Post Apprenticeship Experience
• Full and clean UK Driving Licence

Desirable Requirements:

• Class 4 MOT Licence
• Manufacturer Accreditations
• MOT Licence (Class 4 & 7)
