Job summary

Contour Education is seeking university-available tutors to teach physics and related subjects to groups of 8–20 students. You will explain concepts, guide problem-solving, and help students apply knowledge in exams.

You'll also coach study strategies, mentor students with personal insights, and build relationships that motivate learners to persist. Shifts include weekday evenings and Saturday sessions, with a focus on continuity across the academic year.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication and the ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Knowledge of Physics at first-year university level or above.
• Having a 99+ ATAR and 43+ study score in your subject is highly desirable but not required.
• Commitment to teaching 6+ classes per week across a full academic year (approx. 12+ hours weekly).

Responsibilities

• Teach a group of students with content and application in a full class (8–20 students).
• Coach study skills and exam strategy with students.
• Mentor students by sharing experiences and building connections.
• Connect with students to inspire continued effort and engagement.

What you'll do

You'll teach a group of students content and application, and help them work through difficult questions:

• Teach – intuitively teach subject content to a full class of 8-20 students
• Coach – study skills and exam strategy
• Mentor – share your own experiences and form genuine connections
• Connect – build relationships that inspire students to keep going

For example, you might teach two classes on Monday and two on Tuesday (4:15-6:15pm and 6:45-8:45pm), plus two on Saturday morning (10:00am-12:00pm and 12:30-2:30pm).

What you'll bring

• Strong communication and a knack for making hard concepts click
• Knowledge of Physics at first-year university level or above
• A 99+ ATAR and a 43+ study score in your subject (highly desirable, not required)
• 6+ classes per week , committed across a full academic year (around 12+ hours weekly)
