Job summary

Contour Education is seeking tutoring staff for two tracks: Tutors who run group classes and Assistant Tutors who support the lead tutor with one-on-one sessions and material quality checks.

You’ll teach, mentor, and motivate students, with evenings and weekend hours to fit university timetables. The role offers paid training, real growth paths, and a supportive team environment at Contour Tutor Academy.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and a knack for making hard concepts click.
• Knowledge of your subject at first-year university level or above.
• A 99+ ATAR and a 45+ raw study score in your subject (highly desirable, not required).
• 6+ classes per week, committed across a full academic year (around 12+ hours weekly).
• Energy, empathy, and a desire to help students.

What you’ll do

We hire for two tracks and assess every application for both, then place you where you’ll shine brightest as a tutor:

• Tutors run the group classes. You intuitively teach subject content to a full class of students, coach study skills and exam strategy, mentor students through your personal experiences, and form genuine connections that inspire.
• Assistant Tutors work with students one at a time. You support the lead tutor in class, run video consults with students who need extra help, answer questions by text between classes, write worked solutions, and verify learning materials for quality.

For example, you might teach two classes on Monday and two on Tuesday (4:15–6:15pm and 6:45–8:45pm), plus two on Saturday morning (10:00am–12:00pm and 12:30–2:30pm).
