Job summary

Loreto Toorak invites applications from experienced VCE Mathematics Teachers for a full-time, ongoing position commencing in Term 1, 2027. Reporting to the Head of Faculty, the successful candidate will be a passionate and innovative educator committed to fostering students’ understanding, confidence and appreciation of Mathematics.

The role is to teach Units 3 & 4 Mathematical Methods, together with Mathematics classes across other year levels, using an inquiry-based approach to make complex

Qualifications

• Current Teaching Registration with VIT.
• Experience teaching Units 3 & 4 Mathematical Methods is essential.
• Experience teaching Units 3 & 4 Specialist Mathematics is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and collaborative planning skills.
• Ability to foster student learning and relationships with students, staff and parents.

Responsibilities

• Teach Units 3 & 4 Mathematical Methods and other year levels as required.
• Use a dynamic, inquiry-based approach to make concepts accessible.
• Develop problem-solving and critical-thinking skills and connect learning to real-world applications.
• Collaborate with colleagues in planning and delivering curriculum.

The successful candidate will bring a dynamic and inquiry-based approach to the classroom, using effective teaching strategies to make complex concepts accessible, develop strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, and connect mathematical learning to meaningful real-world applications.

About You

• Current Teaching Registration (Victorian Institute of Teaching)
• Demonstrated experience teaching Units 3 & 4 Mathematical Methods is essential
• Experience teaching Units 3 & 4 Specialist Mathematics is highly desirable
• A demonstrated understanding and appreciation ofprinciples and practices of student learning strategiesand styles
• Excellent communication skills to a range of audiences
• A collaborative approach with colleagues in planning and delivering curriculum
• Proven experience in establishing and fostering relationships with students, staff and parents
