Job summary

Australian Camp Services is seeking an experienced Utility Manager to lead the day-to-day hospitality and accommodation services at a remote mine-site. You will support the onsite team, maintain service standards and build strong client and resident relationships.

In this hands-on role, you’ll manage operations, including housekeeping, laundry, kitchen support, and bar service, while ensuring HACCP compliance and safety. You’ll drive KPI improvements and maintain RMS records.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service, communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in village services with large resident communities.
• FIFO supervisory experience leading a team of 10+.
• Understanding remote-site hospitality, accommodation and utility services.
• Catering experience and safety awareness (HACCP).
• National Police Clearance within the last 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Oversee on-site laundry, linen handling and related services.
• Support kitchen duties, food prep, dishwashing and dining hall cleaning.
• Oversee catering to meet HACCP, quality and service standards.
• Assist bar service in wet mess areas as required.
• Manage stock, inventories and wastage; maintain RMS records.
• Monitor KPIs, attend client meetings and build client relations.
• Complete audits and reports for quality, safety and finances.
• Uphold safety, quality, and confidentiality; perform other duties as needed.

ACS is seeking an experienced Utility Manager to lead the day-to-day delivery of hospitality and accommodation services at a remote site.

You’ll support the onsite team, maintain service standards and build strong relationships with clients and residents.

This is a hands-on role, and you’ll Manage the day to day operations of the site and step into operational duties when needed.

This role will involve:

• Lead, mentor and develop the onsite team, including onboarding orientation, training, regular feedback and performance management
• Manage and assist with housekeeping of accommodation rooms, wet mess areas, gyms, offices and other mine-site facilities
• Oversee on site laundry services, including the cleaning and handling of linen and towels
• Support kitchen hand duties, including food preparation, dishwashing, dining hall cleaning and stock replenishment
• Oversee kitchen operations to ensure catering requirements, HACCP compliance, food quality and service standards are met
• Assist with bar service in the wet mess area as required
• Manage ordering, stocktakes, inventory and wastage
• Maintain the site accommodation management system (RMS) and maintain accurate records
• Monitor contract KPIs, attend weekly client meetings and build strong relationships with clients and residents
• Complete audits and reports for quality compliance, service standards, head office and retail shop finances
• Ensure the team understands and follows Quality, HACCP, Safety and Environmental procedures
• Maintain a safe workplace, identify opportunities for improvement and uphold ACS standards and confidentiality
• Carry out other duties as directed by the Operations Manager or senior management as operational needs change

What are we looking for?

• At least three years’ experience in village services, including managing a village of 100 or more residents
• Previous FIFO supervisory experience and the ability to lead a team of 10 or more
• A sound understanding of remote-site hospitality, accommodation and utility services
• Catering experience
• Booking accommodation system RMS experience (Desirable)
• Strong customer service, communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
• Experience with personnel management and leading a team
• Ordering, stocktakes and reporting
• A current driver’s licence, White Card, Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate and Food Safety Handling Certificate
• A National Police Clearance issued within the last six months
