Blacktown City Council is offering a 12-month trainee role in Urban Planning and Economic Development, followed by Development Assessment. You will rotate 6 months in each area, working with experienced planners on projects shaping how Blacktown City grows.

The role involves researching planning issues, assisting with studies and planning controls, and helping assess development applications while gaining knowledge of planning legislation.

Qualifications

• Currently studying a planning-related qualification.
• Interest in research and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Research planning issues, assist with planning studies and strategic plans.
• Support preparation and monitoring of planning controls.
• Assist in assessing development applications and providing planning information to developers, Council staff and the public.
• Collaborate with consultants and other organisations to build knowledge of planning legislation.
